Review by hotel critic
Nestled in the stunning backdrop of the mountains, Hotel Du Pillon is a delightful surprise for anyone seeking a culinary escape. I enjoyed a long weekend there recently, and it provided the perfect blend of comfort and charm. The restaurant, Pillon, offers guests a chance to indulge in international cuisine while enjoying beautiful garden views-just what I needed after a day of exploring. While the self-service breakfast from 08:30 to 12:00 was conveniently scheduled for late risers, I found myself wishing it started a tad earlier to catch the first lifts. The ambiance was inviting, and the food felt wholesome, emphasizing fresh, local ingredients. Evenings at the hotel were particularly pleasant as I dined on light fare that was both innovative and comforting-a true reflection of the culinary talent at play. Complementing the dining experience, the lounge area featured a large TV with satellite reception, making it a cozy spot to unwind after a day in the mountains.
